nov 2 to 12

nov 2 we had the Theory test in web design
nov 3 the Practical Test on web design
nov 4 now that we learned CSS we needed to look for more templates and know we know what the CSS is and we can change it.
nov 5 to the 12 we had to get template and work on a part for the school site mine was the Tech home page

oct 16 to fri 30

so 16 to the the 19 was work periods on making a site with a template and uploading it to the web
oct 20th using first page we are starting to learn frames on first page. using four different sites you could view them all one page with out leaving the site. which is nice but frames are old and very few people use them.
oct 21 we learned iframes which equals floating frames. we also learned to use frames in Dream weaver also how to make a navigation bar
oct 22 - 23 was a work period for a HTML design assignment
oct 26 YAY we are learn about CSS which is cascading style sheets. with CSS you can do alot more and things to make a page look better and run better.
oct 27 we made a page with CSS not frames or tables none of that old stuff.
oct 28 we learned about layers with CSS and positioning
oct 29 had a test review
oct 30 work period on something

nov 2 - nov 12

nov 2 ya work period on a non-linear recursion (to solve a maze )
nov 3 We started Sorting Techniques. first the bubble sort which is the slowest but easiest way. other sorting techniques are the swap methods then the modified bubble sort then the exchange sort and the best sort is the shell sort. then we got the median assignment
nov 4 work period
nov 5 now we learn the truly fastest method which is the quick sort then we used the pointer sort got the snowfall assignment
friday work period
monday 9 We started searching Techniques is what we learned today sequential search and binary search
tues 10 binary quiz then we got an assignment
weds idk what we did i sat down then mr. rock came in dropped off a computer for me to fix then when i came back to the class room i had to leave for the remembrance day assembly
thurs 12 sir said i didn't need to worry about the project which was great because i had alot going on on weds but today we started on Advanced file handing. Updating sequential files like changing them, deleting them, and adding them.

oct 16 - fri 30

so ya i missed a two weeks and now i am makin them up which works out because no i and write a blog for 2 weeks and still get 4 blogs for his to mark

so on friday 16th we learned four different things about OOPS. Encapsulation which is hiding details of an object from other parts of the program. The object can be used only through its access methods, which keeps the object consistent and secure. The second one is Static methods which are classes and you don't need to make an instance of it to use it. Third method overloading which is when two methods of a class have the same name but diff par list. and last Inheritance which is like making something new but still using what the class you make it from info.

Monday 19th
we started by taking up the work sheet after that we recapped friday. Then sir gave us an assignment and the rest of class to work on it ( the assignment was optional)

tuesday 20 we learn about Structures which is a set of values that can be referenced collectively it differs from an array in the element of the structure can be types and similar to class in that they represent data structures. minor project
weds 21 work period

thurs 22 for the first 30 mins we had a quiz on OOP
then we started to work with strings the you can use with methods.
friday 23 we did the Credit card program
mon 26 we did the ISBN program
tues 27 Cryptography with Caesar code
weds 28 We had a string test
thurday 29 we started to learn about recursion and to learn it we started with the GCD program
friday 30 no we learned about non-linear recursion which involves going every way its like to solve a maze

again tuesday was retreat so what we did in class idk i heard it was something to do with templates

something about:

- why to use them

-defining editable regions

- crating a new page based on a template

-updating

- and unlinking it

but ya i didn't miss much -_-

so ya we got assignment to make a resume site that is 3 or 4 pages and we need to use a template and thats what we worked on the whole week

ok so we learned about inporting tables from word, excel. so ya we learned about more tables is kinda stupid because when we learn floats no one will be using tables but hey i should shut my mouth because i can't use a float :(.

monday 5

- inserting flash text and buttons

to sum all that up sir gave as a problem to do with image maps

tuesday we learned basic rollovers and creating a web photo album

wed we had a test it was easy marks ya ya

thursday we learned about site management

-u need to create folders before defining site which includes image folder

- if u can make the site name and the folder name the same

then we made a 3 page site like this

also learned about library items

-only works on properly defined sites

-it is easier to change it once in the library then 27 times on each page

oct 13 to the 15

so mondays was thanks giving ya

tuesday the assignment was due but u was gone one retreat good thing i handed it in on friday but ya which means idk what he did tuesday

wed we had a test and omg the first three question i knew them but like idk i messed up abit and the last one omg i died thats was so uncool but whatever i passed kinda. you know it was a pass but like to me its not a pass.

yes today we learned about classes and ya got yelled at to shut up gillis and i talked alittle to much and i feel bad because i know i shouldn't be talkin like i need all the help i can get.

oct 2 - oct 9

we learned about math programming so say the day plan? i honestly forgot about it and ya know trying to do 4 in 1 night. so sir showed us the hidden pitfalls of computer arithmetic and we learned tolerance.

on monday which is the 5th we did GCD greatest common divisor

- we had a assignment on this and it was by our self and i was due well i am not sure i think it was wed oct 7

meaning we had the 6th to work on it

but ya on wed oct 7th we "learned random numbers"

so sir did a couple of programs and ya no homework that day but we did have a program we should have tried

Web Design

ya we learned how to use fireworks and sir made use start a project that we need to do something to a picture that he didn't teach us.

thursday to monday was work periods ( or gaming classes ) on tuesday we had to critique ur school site and another high school

wed 30 we showed your graphic tricks

today we started dreamweaver

so basically everything we have done in coding we did in like half an hour

• making links

umm we also started making files and all that

friday 18th to tuesday 22nd

we learned how too link things and add pictures and background music.

on monday we about converting things to .PDF files and started image manipulation

then recap on everything we did

on tuesday we used photoshop and had a little quiz

Handling Exceptions so the deal is that you enter this line and it catches all the errors and tells you what is wrong and closes the program without the crashing ( what a great tool )

on thursday we did review on 1D arrays which is cool i knew that stuff and i am not going to lie i didn't pay attention in class ( i should have thou ). friday we did 2D arrays oh my god i should have payed attention like i knew it was review but when sir gave us the project i failed hardcore like i couldn't remember what to do i know how is make a 2D array but like not what to do with it so ya gillis and i failed. ummm the rest of the week till wednesday was a work period or review. on wednesday the project was due and today we had a test omg and ya somewhere in all that we learned 3D arrays

friday 18th to tuesday 22nd

Alright programming

we need to make a program using a control we have sir has not shown us i am using the tab control, progress bar, and web browser. friday we are using data files which means system.IO monday was a work period for the project and a review for a test. Tuesday yaya it was Extension test lol it was easy so its ok lol.

on wed we ummm we had a short leeson then time to work on a project which i finished so it was a free period fun fun i played some games ummmm ya thats about it for wednesday lol thursday or today whatever umm i am not 100% sure what we did in class something about methods and flowcharts and problem solving but todays class was about talkin to chris how he should not hate gay people and how just because u have a flaw does not make u worthless and that he has many flaws :)

ok so ya weds umm my group was done the assignment to it was a free period so guess what games and more games plus music lol. thats about it now today we did a quick lesson then we got to start HTML coding about time. it is easy so far and ya i don't mind it but now that i am done todays work i am workin on my blog and listenin to music kinda internet is gay rite now i tried to play a game but it failed

monday 14 and tuesday 15

NEW WEEK LESS DRAMA that is what this week has been so far for me lol anyways back to programming

so programming yesterday we learned about input boxes again lol how u need to import them into references to use it and soo on the did i small program. it was a nice quick review and for St. marys the other school that is takin it with us it was a good way to learn it and i hope they got it all. today we learn about using a new form and make it and input box but the advantage is that u can have alot on the form to answer where in input box u can only have one thing u know so it is good but the code is like blah u know but i get it so its all good. sir gave us a program too do but he is not markin it so i was like no i am not doin it so i started on today's which in now tomorrows assignment but i didn't get much because my computer was messing up like f**king s**t i was like UGH. but ya its all good now :) lol

ok so web design its all good we got a assignment or project what ever its all good i went in a group of 3 Chad, Jordan, and I and we finished it a day early so tomorrow we got a free work period yaya umm there not alot to say right now about this class lol but i hope that changes

mike switched in to the class and i am helpin him now so its all good

first week - first day

ok so in programming fun fun

so the first week and the only class i want out of is my religion so that good lol

oh ya programming well still gettin use to the whole online teaching thing it is cool chris was sick acouple of days and i was able to use his screen to watch the lesson and use my screen to do it so that was good but he is back so it got alittle harder to do that. we did a test/quiz or what ever and had to use the drop ox to hand it in ya i did that so yay yay i don't fail yet lol. assignment we had to do i handed that in and got prefect yay. so programmin seems to be doin good i am thinkin of moving my seat so i can have the two screen thing i like that now "there is always a method to my madness" and the method is that it is easier with two screens something sir said in the beginning so i guess he is right

Web Design

so in second period i got web design fun fun lol umm not programmin yet but ya sir said that we won't be until like a month in so i am learning want i can rite now. i was goin to cry for like a second when sir said flow charts and i was like omg nooooo please noooo i hate those things but lucky for me there is not flow chart :) just HIPO chart, Data flow chart, and a Gantt chart so i replaced the one chart i hate with three that are not that bad lol. it is not fair that gillis and i r in the same room but can't site with each other because it is two different classes because if i got Eric i would get 99 in this class lol

ok this is my first blog post i have tryed to do 3 times now

so i got two blogs to do and i am using this one to do both therefore this will be a blog for my programming and my web design

so the first week WHAT WHAT
ya the first day for programming we spent half the class lookin at the sites we r using http://hwcdsb.elearningontario.ca/ & https://connect.hwcdsb.ca/csharp?launcher=false that is the first one is were we get updates and on classes and we take quizes and tests and were we hand in programs. the second site is where the class is it is cool like i side chat and and we use mic and headphones to talk with everyone and watching the class lesson online it is different it also means that we can be in class at home :)

for web design we went over the basic you know where everything is and what we will be doin and all that
what "learned" how to use firstclasses and got told about the blog again lol
thats mostly it for first class for webdesign fun eh

Sept 1st

LOL so summer is coming to a close which means school is starting again therefore you guessed it another blog

friday 4

so tomorrow  the blogs are due our note books are due and the program 0_0 i am not ready for it 

mon 30 too thur April 2

on monday we had a 35 min quiz again 0_0 i forgot about it lol i should look at my notes more. i did ok i beat Eric lol so its all good. after the quiz we started to learn about 2 d arrays i said alittle about them last week about the video thing well we are doin them now

tues 31 we looked at a program called simplequizscore after that sir gave as a small project that is just like the program he just showed us 

wed 1 sir said that he is goin to give us all 90's with out doin work april fools lol i wish nah so it is april fools day and that virus came out apparently like 25% of the USA got hit i don't know. today was i work period

thur 2 it was a work period oh ya something about fri mar 27 it was the shortest lesson on earth we got like an hour and 2o mins of whatever time work , games , whatever

thurs 26 and fri 26

i was pretty dead this too days thanks to jordan and eric for notes and help lol 

 so thurs we started to talk about sorting and the types, the main one is bubble sort where is basically just goes thorough until there are no changes. how sir explained it was he told the row i was sittin at to stand the said we are goin to see who is tallest for it compares 1st to 2nd  the 2nd to 3rd so on and so on until we were in order ( i think i should have been first but whatever lol ) after that sir gave us a test review to work on

on fri umm i don't have alot to say we started on advanced applications so array counters and so on 

mon 23 tues 24 wed 25

alright first off i missed the last 2 weeks because i didn't go on first class and because of that i didn't know sir was going to check them ( he was on the trip so ya )

so mon 23 we i don't know what we did i think we took up problem from last time and worked on a program ( likes that is new lol ) ya it was a credit card thing. Basically you entered your pin and the program would say is it was valid or not. 

on tues spent like the first 25 mins on a quiz O_O i forgot about it lol but i didn't do that bad. after that watched a video about one dimensional arrays for 9 mins of the video ( after the 9 mins of video it started talking about 2 d arrays so ya on tues we didn't need to know about it ) after the video thing sir did a example program ( again like thats new ) an that ends that day

weds umm sir asked us to print out a program arrayintermediate and take notes on the code while he did hid lesson. The main point was about REF. You see arrays are smart they will change and come back with any update or change you do that them when using methods but normal values are stupid and when you send it somewhere and call it back it remember the change or update with out the whole ref thing in-front of it 

thurs 26

Today we learned a five step program  the flowcharts , description, user-interface, code solution. also learned about  syntax, run-time, logic errors and how to fix and spot them. Play stepping which is (F11).   

mon 23 tues 24

ok it is mon and sir took like 10 to 15 mins to show us a combo boxes and list boxes and the two ways to enter the data list. the rest of the period was for the project and again debugging after debugging. it was like after you sloved 20 + and you thought he this is going to work you had another 20+ problems but with sirs help and Eric's help i finished and it worked fine.

tues we had to hand in the code to the project for sir to make and we had a test. The test was open book but like super long. like no joke is was worse then the exam for gr.10 programing

wed 18 thurs 19 and fri 20

wed 18 sir showed a program which showed while true loops while loops and for loop. then we had to write a program which used it. 

On thurs we learned about e.keychar==8 also we redid the controlled repetition and add custom dialog. Then we got a assignment , what the program should do is take the age and height of people from 13 to 18 years of age and find the average height for there ages.

fri 20 was a work period for the project i wrote like all the code to find alot of problems so dedugging started

fri 13 mon and tues 17

well on fri sir showed use some sample programs like a tic tac toe. He also showed us checkboxes and radiobuttons. We also worked on programs.

mon was family day so no school

tues 17 we learned about messageboxes, we learned about the difference  between show and showdialog and showdialogresults. and settings dialogresults to OK/Cancel for button. Sir showed us keypress demo. Then we had to make a program which you clicked a button and new form opened and you entered your info the pressed a button and it showed you what you put in.

wed/ thursday

wed hmmm well still wasn't feeling good but i went to school because i was goin to the the test but after period one i couldn't really stay awake and still left shoddy. so i signed out

Thursday now i have no idea what we did in class on tuesday or wed and today because for the whole period i was doing that test i did ok it could have done better. but from the day plans it looks like we are into if statements so i better pay attention because if i don't get if statements the is going to be a long sem. 

fri 6 and monday 7 tues 8

Friday we started on math now in VB we didn't start math until like the middle of the sem. but whatever. We learn about casting how that you can't you 7/2 it will give you 3 not 3.5 you nee to go (double)7/2 to work and (double)(7/2) won't work ether. we did more converting into string then back to double the to string. one for the computer to do math and the other to make it look good on the form. Then Sir have us a hand out and it was like in Gr 10 but now you need to do it in C#.

On monday it was a work/study period because you worked on the hand out but you study for the test on tuesday.

tuesday test day well not for me i was home sick sleeping most of the day and when i woke i went on firstclass and sent Sir a message telling him i wasn't goin to be there then went back to sleep.   

wed4 and thursday 5

on wed we had a quiz to make sure we payed attention for the past three days. The program we had to make was easy because there was no programing it was just making the form. 

On thursday we went over the idea of computer storage , variables and all that. Unlike VB where you go (dim blah as double) in C# you just go (double Blah) it is quicker i think. we also lerned to "convert" command and "MessageBox" and learned how to steal inputbox from VB. the Inputbox was nice in VB but in C# it is not worth the work to use it and to run it you need to save in cdrive and ya forget stick with textboxes unless at home or something and whatever have fun. like VB, C# has public and private so ya we learned about that  

monday 2 and tuesday 3

ok so i got a programmer class again and that means a blogs again.

Monday 2 so this class went pretty good you i got a couple of people from the grade 10 course and all that. So sir was like sign in and all that so we did know for some reason everyone who took the grade 10 course last sem. sat on one side of the room leaving the new guy to the other side but we are all started fresh kinda new program, new rules so whatever. Sir went over how nothing in this class is a surprise and then showed us the day plans and we went over firstclass and the blog.  after that we started the program we are going to be using 99% of the year C#. After making you screen look like Sir's we started the first program. very simple just showing the basics.

On tuesday we use scroll bars and menus in a program with in C# they are easier to use. the only thing about C# i don't like which i will learn to live with is (;) at the end of every code is : and that is different from VB and i do forget to put is some times.
